Sorry for that long break... I guess I haven't felt inspired these past few months... Anyway, I feel this fall is going to be awesome, warm and full of great ideas, places and people to meet. I won't be long for this I-am-still-alive post, sorry, but less is more remember?
I went to an intimate concert on Wednesday at the Apple store in the Carroussel du Louvre. The name of the artist? Benjamin Paulin. He's a new French singer and writer. He used to rap before, but he finally found his way: a kind of dandy-cum-rapper-and-slamer. Inspired from the young Jacques Dutronc and the talented Benjamin Biolay. Even though he doesn't have that much of a voice, he's got some real good intonations... and damn what he emits is just dazzling! His first album is really good, the kind of song you start singing in the metro, at work, under the shower... BP was even cool to sign my album at the end of the show. If I was intimidated?.... well, what do you think...
Hey everyone... long time no see. I know, I didn't deliver. I apologize for that. If I told you I was actually busy working for a movie these last few months, would you buy it? Well you should coz that's a true story. A wonderful experience by the way. Anyway, I hope you're all doing good, coz spring is on the way. Yeah, the weather guy said so on the news... Last Friday was actually a preview of that early spring. It was all sunny and quite warm, that's why I put on my sneakers, my Ipod on and my way-too-long old blue sweat pants that I just love, and I went walking on the banks of the Seine. Yeah, you read well, I went walking, not jogging... Well actually I kinda ran for like 4 minutes, because of some joggers making me feel shameful I gotta say... Anyway, I just love walking, and I walk actually pretty fast -if you don't believe me just ask my friends. During those 11 miles -true story again- I took some pictures. But don't tell my Canon, I actually shot with my IPhone4, great quality FYI. I like that house overhanging the water. It looks like a movie set really. Not the kind of house you'll expect to see near Paris. Actually you could think that was taken in the US. I just loved the irony of that warning sign with the bike...
Text messages are so over...
Ok so you know like we all have our favorite smell or favorite food... Well I was wondering what's your favorite sound. Is it the sound of an opening beer can? The sound of a kiss? The sound of screeching tires? Mine? ... Well just press play and you'll know. Damn I could call 911 like 10 times a day...
Ok so the left guy is definitely on the phone right, but I'm more suspicious about the right dude...
mmmm, looks like a puppy I want to meet...
Hi everyone, my name is Mary and I'm a tieaholic.Being a tieaholic ain't an easy addiction I have to admit. Once you've tried one on, that's pretty hard to stop wearing them. Yeah, I have to tell you I don't wear them only with shirts or for when I worked for Ralph Lauren... I kinda love wearing ties with practically anything. But my favorite way to wear them is on strapless dresses and as a simple neck accessory. I love them in silk, thin cotton, blue, dark blue, with small stripes... Oh and yeah I'm actually the one who taught my brothers how to tie a tie...I just love men accessories. Hats, suspenders, glasses, bow ties and, of course, ties... Damn I wish I were Don Draper sometimes...
That station was right in front of my appartment in NY. No need to tell I just enjoyed every morning when I got out to go to work, with a charming "Hello Miss" shout from the other side of the street... Ok that may be a little cliché to like firefighters, but fuck it, they're brave, hot, hot and did I mention they're hot? D was a young recruit there. We got to talk a lot. He was from Kentucky, and new in the city. What's funny is that me, the French girl, eventually ended up becoming his guide in the City. I remember how excited he was everytime he talked about his job. "Last night I got to drive the fire engine!" "You should have seen that accident on Madison, that was... horribly awesome". Anyway, I liked that 83rd street with the nice firefighters, the hillarious Mexican laundromat guys, who had no idea I spoke Spanish and understood everything they said...Back to the picture. I'm glad I got to shoot "Trouble", the Dalmatian, the station's dog. He was so sweet. I also like that little boy with his dad. While daddy's talking to the Chief, the kid is touching the huge red truck, we can feel how impressed and excited he is. So this post is for all the firefighters in the world. Great job, and well... great outfit...
